MNEFestival of Science and Sports was held in the premises of High School Centre Foca from 03.04 to 10.04.2016. More than 30 students from Foca and Zabljak with the help of the coordinator of science prepared and demonstrated the experiments in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
The festival was visited by students of the secondary school, primary school students ‘ Veselin Masleša’ and ‘ Saint Sava’ as well as children with special needs from the association ‘Tračak nade’. The visitors had the opportunity to participate actively in the experiments.
As part of the Festival three workshops were held about inclusion:
1. Workshop: “Euroželjeznica – Balkan express”;
2. Workshop: “Being accepted”;
3. Lecture: “Dyslexia”
Within the festival different sport activities were held such as: chess, table tennis and football, which the students provided an unforgettable socializing and fun. The teams were combined of the students from both schools, boys and girls and children with special needs.
Also the participants of the Republic contest in Banja Luka, who are the students of elementary music school in Foca, hold a concert for the visitors of the festival and showed their talents on the piano, accordion and guitar.
At the end of the festival was organized the trip to Andrićgrad, where children walked through centuries of history, culture, art and science. The students enjoyed visiting Andrićgrad, where also watched the documentary about the life and work of scientist Milutin Milankovic, who explained the occurrence of Ice Ages in the past of the Earth.
The aim of the festival was to promote science and sports. All these activities have helped the students to acquire new knowledge and skills, to socialize and have a good time, as well as to develop tolerance and accept diversity.
